How I Became a Chef and
Learned How to Build a Website That Works!

Hi there :-) If you're like me, then you're the type of person who likes to know a little about the "person behind the website".

I've tried to keep this brief, but that wasn't easy. So perhaps you may like to grab a cuppa before you read on ;-)

Cooking must be in my blood. My late Grandfather was a great chef many years ago. He was the Executive Chef at the Park Hyatt and Intercontinental Hotels. He truly was a great chef. And that's where my journey began.

Long hours, weekends, public holidays, family birthdays, Christmas day, new years eve... the list goes on. Working these days are all part of the industry.

Sure, it was the career I'd chosen, so I can't blame anyone but myself. But cooking was something I loved to do. It was in my blood and still is.

During my career I'd worked in many top hotels and restaurants in Sydney.

6-Star Cruise Ship

In 2001 I applied and successfully beat 250 applicants for one single position as a chef onboard a 6-star cruise ship called the 'Seven Seas Navigator'.

The opportunity was great. I worked side-by-side with some great chefs from Austria, Germany, France and Switzerland, and the standard of food...wow! It was exceptionally high.

Cooking for Hollywood Stars

My cruise ship experience gave me the opportunity to cook for some of Hollywood's famous Actors and Movie Directors. It was as if this ship was a secret haven for the rich and famous.

It paid well, the traveling was endless but...the hours were horrendous! 7 days a week, 12-15 hours a day, 4-6 months straight. Wow! By the time my 12 month contract was over I felt like I needed to sleep for a week just to recover.

My Realization

Don't get me wrong...I had a great experience but I soon realized it wasn't the lifestyle I wanted. I felt my passion beginning to fade because of the crazy hours; the problem was I loved to cook. I had to find a balance.

So I had a change of career...only to discover a thing called "rush hour traffic". Arghhhh!

Yes! I joined the 9 to 5 workforce...but I still love cooking; hence why I've put this website together. To help others appreciate cooking as well.

Dreaming of Working from Home

I heard of people earning a living while sitting in their home office wearing board shorts, but I dismissed the idea that it was simply the 'luck of a few'.

• What do these lucky people do?
• How can I do it too?
• I don't know enough about the internet to make money online.
